The Professional Standards for BC Educators is a recourse for anyone who holds a certificate to teach within BC. The standards are a guide to help teachers communicate the knowledge, skills and responsibility’s to nurturing a teacher. The best way I can put this is my own words is these are words to live by if you were getting sworn into anything. For example, the first standard is “educators value the success of all students, educators care for their students and act in their best interest”. These are words to live by as a teacher because it is your job to make sure all your students are successful and moving forward in their learning journey.
